OSHA 10 and 30 classes, HAZWOPER, forklift and confined space training, safety councils and consultants. Use these questions when you call or email, and put the same questions to each provider so the answers can be compared.
Questions to Ask
- Are you an OSHA-authorized Outreach trainer, and will I get a Department of Labor card?
- How long until cards are issued?
- Does this course meet the specific standard we are training for?
- Is hands-on evaluation included, or is it classroom only?
- Can you train on site, and in Spanish or other languages?
- What records do we receive for our files?
- How long do you keep student records?
Practical Tips
- OSHA Outreach cards show completion of a voluntary course: they are not a certification and do not by themselves meet training requirements in a standard.
- Forklift and similar training needs an evaluation on your equipment, so online-only is not enough.
- Verify any trainer through OSHA guidance or by asking to see the trainer’s authorization.
Timing and Cost
Typical timing is open classes most months; on-site classes often 2–4 weeks out. On cost, expect about $60–$90 for online OSHA 10 and $160–$190 for online OSHA 30 as a planning range; on-site classes are quoted per group. These are our planning notes rather than survey figures, so rely on the written quote you receive. You can line up the answers in the quote comparison tool and find local options on the Safety Training & Consulting page.
